The first teaser trailer of Aamir starrer much hyped Ghajini is out now on the Internet . The film has always been in news because of various reasons and has created some amount of Hype around it already . But , this trailer might slow down the hype to an extent. The trailer for me first of all was very “Thunda” and nothing except the music of it left me wanting for more .The first trailer of a supposedly Psychological Action Thriller shows the lead actor Dancing in some exotic locations of probably Namibia . The lead actor flaunting his six packs and the lead girl Shriya smiling her way into his heart in a fantasy land . If we leave the dancing part then there is very much less left in the trailer and that part also is very weak . We only get to see Aamir Khan throwing a punch at a person which is a typical South Indian film Punch that usually Rajnikanth throws in his flicks .

For all the guys that don’t know this film is a remake of a south-Indian flick of the same name which in turn was majorly inspired by the Hollywood Psycho-Thriller “Memento” directed by Brilliant Director Christopher Nolan . You all might have seen The Dark Knight which is also directed by Nolan so you know his Brilliance . “Memento” is a very unusual film and if made in an exact manner as it is , would never work among Indian audience . It has a very non-linear Narrative style and something quite complicated for our audience that loves David Dhawan type of cinema . The story of memento is as such that there can’t be any song sequence anywhere . It is an intense film with no light moments . I don’t know how would the Director Murugadoss manage to break into a random song sequence in such an intense story .
I’ve not seen the Tamil version so can’t comment on the film but I just hope that it does not turn out to be a south Indian commercial film with defiance of all logic . From the looks of the trailer it looks like the film would be more commercial in nature and would work amongst commercial cinema loving audience . The only thing that I loved about the trailer was the fantastic music by ARR and the humming by Sonu Nigam . I always expect something like Lagaan or TZP from Aamir , off beat yet entertaining . I hated Fanaa though it was a huge commercial success . Its just that I don’t like to see Aamir in commercial cinema . One thing that goes against Ghajini is the fact that none of the Directors form South apart from Mani Ratnam have succeeded in Hindi film Industry . Ghajini won’t have much of future in South also since they have already seen the film with their favourite actor .
In all , the trailer didn’t work for me as I was expecting it to be something unusual . This turned out to be like thousands of trailers in the past and probably even worse . This trailer I am sure would be loved by Die-Hard Aamir fans since he is in a completely new look and also doing some good moves in the trailer . A very so so first trailer of a very much anticipated film of the year . I have huge expectations from this film considering the bad year this has been for films and I just hope Ghajini doesn’t turn out to be a Rajni .
Check out the Trailer and Please leave your comments:

sans all logic movies..in south..get your brain rehashed dude..you people watch armageddon..and all other stupid hollywood movies..so full of logic..and kabhi khushi kabhi gham..dilwale dulhania lejayenge..wat the heck titles..are legends..massive hits..???!! refill your brain with some sense..
Let us not start abusing the poster
.I am an Aamir Khan fan and i was very excited after watching the trailer. But when i showed it to some of my friends they had the same thing to say ” Full south style fights ” LOL . If nothing It helps in getting another perspective.
The posternever says he likes movies like Armegaddon but he does say The Dark Knight is a brilliant movie. With the same yardstick if a black masked batman can fly, hang from a thread and tackle 10/12 us army marshals with machine guns in a split second so can rajnikant if it is done convincingly , which i am sure is being done in indian cinema too recently.
will be great movie
Thanx Kuldeep for understanding my post and also Munaver and Pradeep for leaving your comments …I agree with you Kuldeep that they show a masked man fighting ten others at a time but what makes that believable is the SCRIPT behind all the fighting and flying . Most of them are firstly superheroes so they are suppose to be able to do such super-human things . On the contrary in any of Rajnikant’s movie he is always shown to be a common man with no Super Powers yet he is capable of doing what other superheroes do with their superpowers . Leaving this thing aside , tell me one thing that is any of Rajnikant’s movie having a script as powerful as The Dark Knight or Director as good as Nolan .
Its not like we believe in everything that comes from west to be true and if it is done in our films we despise it . The best example of this is the movie “Torque” . Torque is a movie made by the producers of the Fast and The Furious and they spent huge sum on special effects etc. etc. but that film never worked as much as the prior because it had many unbelievable sequences that looked good but were very hard to believe and on top of that it had a very weak script. As a result the film bombed at the box office and just could manage to recover its cost some how . So people do believe unbeievable things if there is a very strong Script behind it .
This is the reason why I believe that Ghazni might not connect because the film is inspired from an already perfect script of Memento and if they are going to change it even a little it is obviously going to get weak .
I have just watched the trailer of so called “original” tamil movie of same name who’s ghajani is remake and idea i get is that it’s a frame by frame remake with better location and budget but this doesn’t mean i don’t liked the trailer i really really liked it as it has an X-Factor associated with it
I can understand pradeeps earlier comment. To be honest it saddens me to see that many wonderful movies down south can never go beyond their regional linguistic boundaries. And by south I mean Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam movies (Dont know kannada so I dont watch kannada movies)
Hindi movies have the advantage of a worldwide market and a huge local market too. As a result the budget constraints are very few. Down south only the big actors like Kamal Hassan and Rajnikanth can command such huge ventures. and as a result follows the hype and publicity which carries it across to other places where they tend to be looked upon a jokes. A Rajnikanth movie is like Dhoom or Dus – lots of hype and hoopla but as a film its quite dumb.
Ghajni down south was a mass entertainer that was noted for its music, the unique story-though inspired, and the hero’s new looks then. I was not very impressed as the script had its flaws and also the direction was not the best. However, what saddens me is that if this movie fails in Hindi then the entire movie industry down south will be derided.
I wish you would personally pick up a few South Indian movie DVD’s , read up some more on the various cultures and then watch the movies without any prejudices.
PS: I watch English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam movies.
why do you all guys jump to conclusions just by reading some part of my writing ..I’ve expressed my dislike only for COMMERCIAL south cinema which doesn’t mean that they don’t make good films …I’ve watched some European films even without subtitles and enjoyed them so why won’t I enjoy an Indian one …
saurabh if u dont like faana… u will be not liking ghajini as well,as its a romantic film.. with some actions.. thats it……not like memento… which was a phycological thriller (clearly portraiting about short-term memory loss).. with the same matter, murgadoss has made a romantic cinema…
